The Stockwood Scrolls
Nilsa is the daughter of Mirna Dendrar and Thel Dendrar of Phandalin. Her father Thel was murdered by the Redbrands for standing up to them, and she was taken by the gang to be sold into slavery along with her mother and younger brother, Nars. After being rescued by Crag, Dug, Himo, and Zerok, she was overcome by a desire to kill the man who was behind the murder of her father – the wizard Glasstaff. Her four rescuers eventually returned to town, revealing that man to be Iarno Albrek.
While Sildar Hallwinter saw to the questioning of Iarno while the four who captured them were out of town, Nilsa petitioned the old warrior and the town for the right to kill Iarno herself – something the four adventurers had claimed. When they returned Sildar informed them of this wish, which the four agreed to – only if Nilsa marry Sildar. The girl readily agreed, so overcome was she by the wish to see Iarno dead. Sildar initially rebuked her, still mourning his dead wife and claiming the girl was being forced into it. He was convinced to take her in matrimony however, when Crag threatened to marry the girl instead.
The deal done, Nilsa walked into Iarno’s cell and stabbed the bound and gagged mage through the heart with her longsword and cut his head off cleanly, her face showing no expression. She was married to Sildar Hallwinter the next day, the Greengrass festival. Although the relationship started out rocky, with urging from those who created the marriage the two are now closer to seeing eye to eye.
