The Stockwood Scrolls
The green dragon known as the Emerald Assassin has hunted in the Misty Forest for centuries, and is famed for its love of the taste of elves – especially royal elves. He had taken the life of King Melandrach’s first wife, Aerie, and was believed to have also taken the life of his secondborn son, Neronvain – though the latter turned out to be a lie. At some point Chuth had allied itself with the Cult of the Dragon and Neronvain the Green, and assisted in multiple attacks on elven enclaves within the forest where no survivors were left.
When one of his lairs was attacked by the Heroes of Skyreach, Chuth was incensed and attacked them in a rage. However, the dragon had been caught off guard – an unusual event for a dragon known as the assassin, and it decided to flee to fight again another day after the group proved too powerful for it alone. However, the heroes, with the aid of Prince Alagarthas and the elven ranger Cylanestriel of the Gray Hands, Chuth was tracked down and killed in caves near the High Moor after it tried to ally itself with a band of grimlocks.
The elven ranger Cylanestriel revealed that Chuth and Neronvain had been plotting the death of the elven royal family, though she knew no more details than this. The Heroes of Skyreach were able to return to King Melandrach with not only Chuth’s death, but the knowledge of this plot, for which the King of the Elves was greatly thankful.
